90 points wine tasting tonight!

After a wonderfully hectic trip to Iowa[where they’re doing some pretty nice wines] we have the 90 Points wine tasting in the gardens of the Pitcher Inn tonight. We are sold out and the evening promises to be a good one. Tamales,desserts, good company in a beautiful setting and of course great wine on a picture perfect day. As they said in The Field of Dreams,” Am I in heaven? No, you’re in Iowa.” Vermont could certainly be the answer as well. See you all tonight!

the wines that I purchased way back when there was snow and ice and dark  for a summer that I thought would never see are starting to arrive. Lots of whites but lots of really nice reds too. I’m definitely a seasonal drinker-more whites than reds in the summer-but I enjoyed a Cline ancient vines mouverdre last night with Colleen’s amazing b-b-q chicken pizza and it was a great meal in 10 minutes! Our Cline mouvedre and rose are on deep deal! Come in and check them out!

Vermont Country Store meeting

Yesterday the village was buzzing with country store owners and employees to talk about growth, survival, and the numerous challenges and rewards of running a country store. Governor Shumlin was on hand to meet and greet and spoke with us for an hour about different issues facing us as business people in VT. I want to thank all of you who attended this important event –lots of good ideas and energy.
